However sacrilegious, the ability to launch a Jaguar over a hill and into a cornfield with no risk of mechanical damage is one of the reasons why Forza Horizon 3 is such a blast. As with every well-made open world, Horizon’s lands are rife with distractions; in this semi-fictionalized setting of Australia’s Pacific coast, every mile between you and your presumptive waypoint can feature dozens of detours. Before you know it, you’re up five levels, 1 million credits richer, and you still haven’t arrived at the music festival that you meant to reach an hour ago.

Obviously, the following contains spoilers for the movie–if you haven’t seen it, you can turn away now and instead check out GameSpot’s review of Free Guy.

In an interview with screenwriter Matt Lieberman about the script, “[Guy] ends up with Millie… [But] nobody could really rationalize a person having an extended stay as bit and bytes.” Instead, this plot line might be further explored in a sequel that Disney reportedly already wants, which isn’t a shock to hear as the movie made $28.4 million in North America this weekend and many millions more internationally to reach a global cumulative total of $51 million after its opening weekend.

God of War: Ragnarok is easily the most anticipated PlayStation game releasing this holiday season. The sequel to the Nordic adventures starring Kratos and his son Atreus, Ragnarok looks gorgeous in trailers and we were impressed by what we’ve played so far. PlayStation owners likely already have November 9 marked on their calendars, but big God of War fans may also want to circle November 29. The Art of God of War: Ragnarok, an official art book celebrating the sequel, will be published in two different editions. Preorders are available now, and you can save some cash on your order at Amazon.

If you’re curious about how the game was made, this handsome art book will be a nice companion. It’s available in two different editions: standard and deluxe.

There are some great moments to be had, but, like getting anywhere in the gridlock traffic of LA, those moments can be difficult or impossible to access. They also lack any kind of coherent structure, and they’re prone to all kinds of hang-ups and mishaps. If you want to enjoy GTA Online, you have to be willing to let go of any sort of desire for control, and just go with the flow. Whether it will take you someplace wonderful or someplace infuriating is anyone’s guess.

Using money from the stimulus package that Rockstar gave players who accessed the game in October of last year, I bought myself a swanky penthouse apartment, with pretty art on the walls and a gorgeous view of the city below. But what’s the point of such material wealth in a world as bleak as that of Grand Theft Auto Online? You’re still as vulnerable as any other soul unfortunate enough to be living on these violent streets.<…
